It's Been Such A Long Time...

Things have been quite hectic on my end, I cannot lie about that.
I have been really busy focusing on me, my health and my job! I'll update more on that in a second. But first, a little reflection!
I can't believe it is year four of my Connors teaching career, it feels like just yesterday we got started with this band family we've come to love! When he first began teaching at his school, I was very nervous to see where things would be in the long run. Time's have been easy and they have been tough. We were newlyweds when he started so we were learning to live with each other, getting used to crazy schedules, and of course, trying to find that time to spend together when there was an ounce of free time.

I made a promise to myself and him that I would be the most supportive wife in his career. Looking back, I can't even remember how many football games, rehearsals and contests I have been to total, but I can tell you it's been a rewarding experience. I think that it has also brought us closer as a couple in spending those little moments together throughout all the chaos of band! Times have been tough, stressful, exciting, exhausting, etc. But the band gets better and better with each passing year, they've gone through a lot, and by a lot, I mean there's been a lot of rain. Their practice field is grass, they don't have a concrete field to practice on. This makes it difficult for them when it has rained a lot because it gets REALLY muddy. But does that stop them? No. The show must go on! Their dedication to the band outshines so many I have seen, not trying to be bias or anything.. ha ha! They've gotten a new band hall and it is beautiful, every time I walk in I am in awe at how awesome and blessed these kids and directors are to have what they have! There's plenty of room for them, and they have yard line marks on the floor just in case they need to practice marching inside. Oh man, those new uniforms though! I know I talked about this last year, but it is so refreshing to see a new visual outlook on the field every Friday (and Saturday if it's October!) The kids really look slick and our show looks so much cooler with their new uniforms. I am proud to see how far this band has come since Connor started with the program, it's really been a blast! I would not trade it for anything. AND I love being called Momma B-Ross :)
So let's get to some life updates, ya know, since it's been almost a year since I last posted.
In April, I became a Certified Chiropractic Clinical Assistant! Shortly thereafter, I looked into going back to school to be a Chiropractic Doctor. It has become a serious passion of mine, and the love for the career field I am in grows by each passing day. I ready to take that leap in gaining more knowledge in helping people reach their optimal health through the chiropractic field. It is going to be a lot of work to get there, but I am driven and highly determined to reach this goal. The one thing that drives me to run after my dreams has definitely been Connor. He is within the career field God led him to, and now he is helping and supporting me within my dream to become a chiropractic doctor. I have thought, prayed and longed for an answer on what I want to do with my life, and God has blessed me with some answers in the last few months. I have gotten those answers in ways you would not really expect, which is how I think it should be. Expect the unexpected. I have been given the opportunity to further my knowledge in chiropractic by assisting in new patient exams and re-evaluations of patients after a certain number of visits to see how they have progressed since beginning chiropractic care -- that alone has driven me into working harder to get myself into chiropractic school. Of course, there are a number of things I must do in order to get to the first big goal -- Chiropractic School -- but I feel that if I really work hard and focus on what needs to be done before I even get to apply, that I will more than succeed in things that happen thereafter for me. A true blessing to come my way this year alone, I never could have thought that back in college that I would be where I am in today!
So, that's the biggest and most important update there is. I mean it's probably the only one I have to be honest, haha! But, that's okay. It is a truly important update for sure, I have really been trying to focus a lot on work since I feel it is important to really learn a lot before I get to chiropractic school and make my life a little simpler. But, we all know my life has never been simple! Is anyones life really simple? If it is, please tell me all of your secrets! Haha.
Anyways, BANDtober is officially in full swing, the band participated in a Marching Festival yesterday, like they do each year. It gives them an opportunity to perform their show for an audience and some judges. After concluding and exiting the field they go straight to a session with a judge to do some critiquing on what needs to be worked on. Of course, they had a great performance, and should be very proud of themselves on how they did. I can't wait to see how they progress even more throughout the month. Next weekend, our school hosts a Marching Competition on our turf. It will be a long but fun day, I will try to update on that by next Sunday.
Here are some cute pictures of me and the hubs, and my MIL and SIL. I am so glad they got to come watch! We love when family can come out and see all the hard work put out there for all to see!

Then, one last photo to send us out! The band right after they took their beginning set on the field :)

Talk again soon!
